Location

Located in the heart of the Dolomites, in the Eastern part of Trentino, and surrounded by the superb peaks of the Pale di San Martino group, San Martino di Castrozza has long been a first-class winter and summer mountain resort. The nearby forests, the peaks of the Pale mountain range as well as those of the Lagorai range make the resort a true mecca for freestylers: come and discover it for yourself!

Pale di San Martino

pale-di-san-martino

For over a century, the terrific beauty of the Pale group has fascinated foreign travelers and mountaineers. Their journals depict our mountains as “… terrific vertical fissures which look as if ready to gape and fall apart at any moment, give a frightful appearance of insecurity to the whole mass. … I doubt if a more lonely, desolate, and tremendous scene is to be found this side of the Andes” (Amelia Edwards, 1872). Yet everybody, from 19th-century explorers to the writer Dino Buzzati and modern-day tourists, has been most entranced by the Pale di San Martino plateau – an awe-inspiring, lunar landscape, turning into a sea of white in winter. 50 square km of bare rock at over 2000 meters of altitude, marked by the vestiges of a restless sea and criss-crossed with sheer, bottomless cliffs…

Lagorai’s Ridge

lagorai

Lagorai is a wide range of about 50 km in the Trentino region bordering on the Fiemme valley (North), the Cembra valley (West), Valsugana (South) and the Cismon valley (East). The Lagorai range and the Cima Bocche group represent the offshoot of a wider mountain range made of vulcanite rock belonging to the Porphyric Atesina platform. This region, still partly wild and unspoiled, turns into a true alpine ski and freeride paradise in winter: the closest peaks are those of Cavallazza, Colbricon and Forcella Ceremana, which allow access to the entire group…

S. Martino di Castrozza

sanmartino02

Located in the Eastern part of Trentino region, south of the Dolomites, San Martino di Castrozza is a historic, famous resort that caught the interest of mountaineering pioneers as early as the 19th century as well as attracted and inspired aristocrats and artists. San Martino di Castrozza still has this appeal and dynamism, having become a popular holiday destination thanks to its unparalleled beauty and its wide range of first-class facilities. Surrounded by the Pale di San Martino group and part of the natural park of Paneveggio – Pale di San Martino, the village is nestled in a sunny, verdant basin at 1450 meters altitude with a uniquely breath-taking panorama.

Primiero Valley

valle-primiero

The Primiero valley is a narrow valley in the Eastern part of Trentino including six municipalities: Fiera di Primiero, Imèr, Mezzano, Siròr, Tonadico and Transacqua, along with the neighboring municipalities of Canal San Bovo (Vanoi) and Sagon Mis which are officially part of the area. Primiero is located in the south-eastern Dolomites, between the Trentino region and the Belluno province (Veneto). The valley is surrounded by three mountain groups: Lagorai (West), Vette Feltrine (South) and Pale di San Martino (North).

Ski Area San Martino di Castrozza – Passo Rolle

The San Martino di Castrozza – Passo Rolle ski area belongs to the Dolomiti Superski, the largest ski resort in the Italian Alps, featuring more than 1100 km of slopes. At the foot of the Pale di San Martino group, in the Eastern Dolomites, the ski resort offers about 60 km of ski runs connected through a network of lift facilities and ski buses with a breath-taking scenic backdrop – a wide range of slopes of all levels make it the ideal destination both for advanced skiers and for beginners.
